Jordan Smith and his first single, Stand in the Light, encourages listeners to stay true to who they are. This message is especially personal to him because Smith was bullied a lot as a kid and he always felt the need to change who he was in an effort to please everyone. Unfortunately, the bullying especially continued after his appearance on the Voice due to his high-pitched voice. He’s mentioned how it took him years to gain confidence but he used his experiences to motivate him to write Stand in the Light.
“Reach for the branch and climb up leaving sadness behind”
Like Smith, a lot of us can admit that there have been times when we’ve felt like we needed to hide our true selves. Some of us do it so often and eventually we get lost, falling deeper into never knowing who we really are. With this song, Smith sends out a strong and powerful message about embracing yourself and who you are. Always remember that it is important to never feel the need to hide the real you.
“This is who I am inside. This is who I am, I’m not gonna hide”
Don’t hide in the dark because you’re afraid of what people might say and/or think about you. Stand in the light and be proud of who you are. Shine brighter than the stars that lights up the sky, be seen in the light are who you really are.

Darius Coleman is a man who loves music, loves fashion and most importantly, loves his family.
“The biggest inspiration for why I do what I do, is because of my family”
He’s always had a deep sense of admiration for his family and admired their strong work ethic he witnessed growing up. The sense of gratitude he has towards each of them is a driving force as to why he’s so passionate about succeeding in his career. It’s his way of giving back and providing for them.
