[Video] Hispanic Choice Awards Celebrates Latinos Making a Difference in their Communities
This past Saturday, over a thousand people within the Tri-State area dressed up in their finest red carpet attire and united to celebrate the 12th Annual Hispanic Choice Awards.
Founded by Javier Suavez and Cecilia Ramirez with the vision to celebrate those who contribute to the robust Latino influence in the region. Every year since their first award show in 2004, the audience along with the feeling of Latino empowerment and pride continues to grow.
Hosted by Gotham’s JW Cortes, local leaders were nominated for various categories such as Community Advocate of the Year and Education Champion of the Year. These categories thus lead until the grand finale one, “Living Legend Honoree“. This year, HCA honored both Sonia Manzano, most notoriously known for her role as ‘Maria’ on Sesame Street and Grammy award winner Sie7e.
The entire night was filled with much inspiration and recharged everyone in the audience with the fuel they needed to go out and play their part to positively impact their surrounding communities in some way, shape or form.
What are you waiting for?
Somos Latinos. Somos Familia.
Now signing off with the reminder: Don’t wait for the world to recognize your greatness, live it and let the world catch up to you.
